GDRR 2015: Fourth Symposium on Games and Decisions in Reliability and Risk

Point Hotel, Istanbul, Turkey June 17th – 19th, 2015
Following the meetings in Washington by George Washington University (2009), in Belgirate by CNR IMATI (2011), in Kinsale by Trinity College Dublin (2013), the Fourth Symposium on Games and Decisions in Reliability and Risk (GDRR 4) will take place in Istanbul during June 17-19, 2015. The symposium is organized by Yeditepe University, in cooperation with CNR-IMATI and the George Washington University.

The objective of the symposium is to present novel use of game and decision theory in reliability and risk analysis and to bring together researchers from diverse disciplines such as economics, engineering, finance, mathematics, medical sciences, probability and statistics. All sessions at this symposium will be plenary, with a mix of invited and contributed presentations.

Spring 2014

ISBA-George Box Workshop

This 2-day ISBA meeting will feature presentations and discussions of topical, frontier research in the methodology and applications of Bayesian statistics, and related areas. The focus areas are among those pioneered by George Box through his career as a path-breaking innovator in concepts, theory, methods and applications across a broad sweep of areas. The workshop is an opportunity to participate in reflecting on Box’s legacy, coupled with the vibrancy of our discipline – especially in its interfaces with challenging areas of application. Though the subfields represented are established and mature in many respects, they still represent key and challenging research arenas for modern, stochastic model-based and computationally oriented research statisticians in academia, business and industrial environments. Hence the interest in highlighting these areas at a 2014 research frontier conference, to exchange ideas and advances, and to identify and confront key areas raising challenges to statistical science and Bayesian methodology and so define new research directions.
